Before you can auto-install the ScaleXtreme agent on Windows 2008 and 2008 R2 machines on EC2 and Rackspace, you must first configure Windows to allow access, as shown below.
Note that inbound access to your Windows server is only required to install the agent. Once the agent is installed, ScaleXtreme communicates with the cloud over outbound HTTPs and inbound access can be shut down. The licensing related warning message "You need to be connected to a Terminal Services License Server within 120 Days," can be safely disregarded.
Click Start > Administrative Tools > Server Manager > Roles. If the TS RemoteApp Manager is not listed under Roles, then first perform these steps:
Logon again and proceed with the following steps:
Select TS RemoteApp Manager. The TS RemoteApp Manager appears.

In the TS RemoteApp Manager, under Terminal Server Settings, click Change. The RemoteApp Deployment Settings window opens.
In the Terminal Server panel, under Access to unlisted programs, select "Allow users to start both listed and unlisted programs on initial connection" and click OK.

Start > Administrative Tools > Server Manager > Roles. If the Remote App Manager is not listed under Roles, then first perform these steps:
Logon again and proceed with the following steps:
Start > Administrative Tools > Server Manager > Roles > Remote Desktop Services
Select RemoteApp Manager. The RemoteApp Manager Opens:

In the RD Session Host Server panel, under Access to unlisted programs, select "Allow users to start both listed and unlisted programs on initial connection" and click OK.:
